EYFS

  • EYFS at LPSS.

Our Early Years Foundation Stage programme caters for children aged 18 months to 5 years of age (Creche to Reception). We want our child to be happy, safe and secure at all times, whilst laying an excellent foundation as we inspire them to be lifelong learners. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework using the 2012 Development Matters, providing a curriculum full of activities, using themes and real-life experiences.

Our EYFS curriculum is taught by our experienced and caring staff and our classrooms provides a stimulating environment, helping each child to thrive and make remarkable progress from their individual starting points as they enjoy their first school experience.

  • There are four themes within the EYFS curriculum which are important to us:
    • A Unique Child
    • Positive Relationships
    • Enabling Environments
    • Learning and Developing-
  • Learning in EYFS is both child and adult led, all aimed at ensuring every child meets their developmental milestones. Our aim is to make sure that every child develops at the right pace for them as we help them along, by choosing topics that will capture their interests.

We incorporate the interests of each child and revisit areas of interest, spending time on the themes that capture enthusiasm and motivate. How children access material is more important than what they study. They develop learning skills and habits that will be of great value to them in the future.
